Wyndham Port was established to receive thousands of miners in the 1880s, but is now used mainly to export livestock and metals to Asia through the Cambridge Gulf.

Wyndham is one of the most isolated towns in Western Australia, located 3,200km north east of Perth and nearly 500km west of Darwin.

The Natural China Wall - named because it resembles the Great Wall of China - outside Halls Creek, the gold mine that drew prospectors to north Western Australia, .

Crocodile farming is an up-and-coming industry in Wyndham, capitalising on the thousands of crocs that surround the town.

Argyle Diamond Mine is the largest producer of diamonds in the world. The open pit mine is soon to be replaced by underground mines.
