Arthur, Illinois, heart of Amish Country

Illinois is known as the Prairie State.

Arthur is the 7th largest Amish settlement with 28 church districts and a population of 4,000.

80 percent of Illinois is farmland, totalling 120,000 km², an area the size of North Korea.

More than 250,000 Amish people live in the US and Canada.

The rich Drummer soil is the state soil of Illinois.

Illinois also produces specialty crops, such as pumpkins, horseradish, and Christmas trees.
