Potawatomi Reservation, new home of an ancient culture

The Great Plains is one of the largest grassland expanses in the world.

Indian reservations cover only 2.3% of the USA.

Up to 35 different native tribes lived in the Great Plains at one time.

In 1800 there were around 40 million buffalo in North America. By 1890 this number had fallen to 750.

The population of Native Americans and Alaskans numbers 4.8 million.

There are more than 330 Indian casinos open in North America.
